Firefox 34.0.5 on Mac OS X 10.6.8.

1. In a window, I create a new tab. 
2. In the new tab, I load the address http://filmcomplethd.fr/online/ 
3. I press Apple W 

* Expected behaviour : * 

Firefox flashes the menu File in blue, and closes the tab.

* Actual behaviour : * 

Firefox flashes the menu File in blue, but does not close the tab. 
This is inconsistent. 
This makes me wonder : 
“The menu File has flashed. This means that my keyboard equivalent has been understood and that my Mac has done the action. But the tab is still here. So what action has been done ? Which other tab has been closed instead ?”

Thank you for correcting that bug.

I couldn't reproduce with Firefox 34.0.5 under Mac OSX 10.9.5.

Can you try to reproduce using a clean profile?

With a clean profile, I reproduce the bug.

When I tried to reproduce it the first time, the website from comment 0 was not working. Today, it is on and I could see the bug too. Confirming on Mac OSX 10.9.5, Firefox Developer Edition 37.0a2.

In Firefox 43.0.4 up-to-date, on Mac OS X 10.9.2 :

1. I create a new window. 
2. I go to the address bit.ly/oYxQYU . 
3. I activate Flash. 
4. I click the video. 
5. I watch the video till the end. 
6. I press Apple W (Command W).

* Expected behaviour : *

Firefox closes the window.

* Observed behaviour : *

Firefox flashes the menu File in blue, but does not close the window. 
This is inconsistent. 
This makes me wonder :

Safari gives the expected behaviour.
