We have a purge_data script that runs every Sunday and sends an email about what it purged. That's great, but with the recent switch to gmail, I'm totally not confident I'm going to get these emails reliably.

This bug covers changing the script so that it records the results in the journal.

Pushed to prod just now. Marking as FIXED.

The script kicks off Sunday mornings. If everything goes well, I won't get emails. I'll check the journal on Monday.
