Details

To keep a pull request has only one build job on Travis avoids doing job for useless commit in a pull request.

We could force close the old travis build of a pull request, if the pull request requests a new travis build.
It could make sure that one pull request only has one running build job on Travis.

Thanks.
I think we all agree about this, but is it possible?
Only when someone is trying to do a "intermittent" try and then a "normal" try, it's maybe not desirable, but that's rare and could be worked around by waiting for the end of the intermittent build.
