What's the status of this feature? Has it stalled? Any chance we can get this on the feature roadmap?

Also, I'm finding Chrome's timeline support (https://developers.google.com/chrome-developer-tools/docs/timeline) just what I need. The killer feature for me is the ability to import data produced outside of the browser for simple timeline display.
For one thing, I should not be the assignee of this bug as there is no clear picture right now for anything.

This was a summer project. Not sure it was ultimately as useful as we'd hoped.

This is not that. Another reason I'm reluctant to include this timeline in our tools as people would be expecting something more akin to what Chrome provides. We intend to add features to our Profiler that approximate what Chrome's timeline does.
